Your Sports Bra Must-Haves

We all know the struggle of not wanting to put on an actual bra. Why deal with the pain of the straps, the uncomfortable push-up feeling and the wires when you can simply throw on your favorite sports bra? Whether you’re a fitness guru or only perform sit-ups when you need to change the TV channel, a sports bra is always a necessity in your wardrobe.

Valley went sports bra hunting to get the scoop on the variety of sports bras available and how to utilize each type. From the lounge wear bra to the “I’m about to kick some butt at the gym” bra, these are the ones we think you will love.

For The Lazy Girl

For the days when you just want to sit back, relax and watch your favorite Netflix show, these are the sports bras you should be wearing.

Calvin Klein Modern Cotton Bralette: While this is technically a bralette and not a sports bra, the cotton still has that same athletic fit. The iconic, elastic band hugs the bottom of the chest perfectly, making this one of the most comfortable bras ever.

Aerie Play Sports Bra: This super soft, v-neck sports bra is perfect for errand-running, yoga or light activities. This bra has adjustable straps, so it will fit all body types comfortably. The bra features removable pads, so the amount of support is adjustable for your different activities.

For The Workout Novice

It is never too late to get in shape and start living a healthier, more active life. It’s fine to just do a light workout every once in a while, especially when you’re first starting out. Here are the bras for you:

Lightweight by Victoria Sport Bra: This brand new addition to the Victoria Sport collection will not disappoint. With a soft, elastic band and wireless cups, this sports bra is perfect for biking, running and even boxing. It also comes in a variety of unique patterns, so going to gym will never be dull again!

Lululemon Free To Be Tranquil Bra: This neutral colored collection features super supportive, yet comfortable bras designed for yoga. With added Lycra fiber, these sports bras are made for stretching and shape retention. If you’ve been wanting to sign up for a yoga class, here is your excuse to go buy a cute bra that will help you Namaste in shape.

For The Workout Pro

For those whose mentality is strictly “go hard or go home,” Valley has the sports bras for you.

POPFLEX Set the Bar Bra: Cassey Ho, founder of Blogilates, created her very own brand of activewear, and we are in love. Her criss-crossed back bra is designed to withstand the highest of intensity workouts. The quadruple band helps give the ultimate support, while still feeling comfortable. The “moss” fabric is made to feel like butter against the skin and the mesh front helps soak up sweat.

Nike Pro Rival Women’s High Support Sports Bra: This sports bra is designed for high-impact activity. With a secure, locked-in feel, this bra was built for the most rigorous of workouts and routine training.

Ashni Dhruva, a freshman on the Penn State Women’s Golf Team, says she cannot train without her Nike sports bra.

“We are required to workout everyday, and the workouts we do are pretty intense,” says Dhruva. “I always wear my Nike sports bras. They are the best.”

We hope Valley has supported you in the task of picking the right sports bra, no pun intended. Remember, it is never too late to turn your life into a healthier one, and a new, cute sports bra is always a bonus.
