TikTok has blown up stand-up comedy, bringing it to new audiences of all ages leaving us wondering where our own comedy scene is on campus. How can we have piano night but no stand-up night? Whether your favorite clips are of crowd work or podcast highlight reels, you’ve probably heard of stand-up comedian and podcast host Theo Von. Now this stand-up comedian definitely isn’t for all ages, but lucky for us he’s coming to perform at Penn State’s Bryce Jordan Center on Feb. 7.
Theo Von will be performing at the BJC on Feb. 7 at 7:30 p.m. for his international “Return of the Rat” tour. Tickets are available on the BJC website, Ticketmaster or Von’s website.
Von’s comedy is not for the faint of heart. Whether or not his controversial hillbilly content persona is real is up for debate but honestly, whether you’re laughing with him or at him, you’re sure to be laughing.
Not sure if you’re ready to drop the $75 on a ticket? Check out his other two specials, “Regular People” and “No Offense,” which are both available on Netflix for a taste of Von’s style.
If stand-up isn’t your thing and you can’t imagine spending any time in the BJC while preparing for THON, Von’s podcast is worth a listen. This Past Weekend with Theo Von is one of the top podcasts in the country and has over 450 episodes and a 4.9 rating on Spotify. The episodes vary from interviews with hilarious guests like Shane Gillis to controversial figures like Tucker Carlson. Either way, tangents filled with nonsense are sure to ensue and entertain.
While there’s no way to know whether Von will be extending his stay in State College past his performance, VALLEY can’t help but admit he might fit in well here.

- After party at Champs (even though he seems like more of a Shandygaff guy)
- Have the Willard Preacher on his podcast
- Try a sandwich from Are You Hungry
- Feed the squirrels on Shortlidge Road
- Interact with the staff at Sowers
- Crash a frat rush event
