Stepping Up Your Shoe Game

Whether you’re at a football tailgate, a daylong, or anywhere with a group of girls present, one thing is for sure — you’re bound to see some white, high top converse. Over the past five years these shoes have become increasingly more popular, especially with young college females — and it makes sense. They’re cute, comfy, durable and most importantly they won’t break the bank. But for those of us who wish to stand out from the crowd, here are some other cute, comfy shoes that will take your shoe game up to the next level.

Puma has been killing the game lately by bringing in some ultra-stylish celebs to help endorse the brand. Rihanna’s Creeper sneaker came out this past year and sold out within hours. Another social media queen, Kylie Jenner, just announced that her partnership with Puma is 100% on. Although Kanye may not be pleased, fans cannot wait to see what the teen star will come up with. These celeb addition sneakers might be a bit of a splurge, so if you’re not trying to sell your soul for a shoe, don’t worry. You can get these suede Puma classics for only $65. Everybody wins!

These next shoes might be the comfiest sneakers you’ll ever wear. Superga isn’t a word commonly thrown around when talking about shoes, but it should be. The brand’s simple approach and affordable prices ($50-$60 a pair) are what set them apart. They’re also super stylish. (Alexa Chung rocks these daily.) They come in almost any color you could ever want and even offer platform versions. Our current fave is this crochet style that’s perfect for spring and summer festivities.

The Adidas Superstar has been around for ages and isn’t planning on going out of style any time soon. These shoes are everything you could want. They’re stylish, comfortable, and go with every outfit. Dress these shoes up in a sexy skirt like Rihanna  or rock them in your sweats like Jourdan Dunn. You’ll look good no matter what. The best part? You can usually find these shoes for around $60, so channeling your inner supermodel won’t leave you broke!

Don’t get me wrong, converse are rad and have been a staple of evolving fashion since the 70’s. But we can’t ignore all the other beauties out there that deserve our attention! Next time you’re in the market for new sneaks, don’t be afraid to steer away from the familiar and find your next unexpected, amazing shoe.
