The world of high-end fashion has taken a turn this past year, as Instagram models across the globe have been sporting one staple piece: fashionable sneakers. These style savvy women have ditched the heels for a comfortable, yet cute pair of sneakers to take on the day and the runway.
VALLEY took note of the sneakers our favorite models have been wearing and found all the details to help you achieve your own sneaker chic look.
Embroidered Sneakers
Patterns and designs have found their way onto every type of sneaker this year. One brand in particular has upped their embroidered shoe status with a shoe that has had everyone breaking the bank: Gucci slides.
Gucci’s slides have taken over with their adorable floral pattern, leading to Gucci’s creation of embroidered sneakers with a similar vibe.
The Gucci Ace Leather Sneaker now features a variety of designs, from flames to flowers. These street essential shoes cost between $550 to $900 and are available on Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue online stores.
VALLEY realizes that not everybody can afford these Gucci gems, so we decided to find a dupe sneaker that is way cheaper than the original.
From super distinguished patterns to completely plain white, models are sporting both styles on and off the runway.
Forever21 sells a variety of knock off embroidered sneakers similar to the Gucci ones. Their Flower Embroidered Sneakers look almost identical to the Gucci ones, and they will only set you back $30.
Plain White Sneakers
The plain, white sneaker has taken over pretty much every single brand, each putting their own spin on the classic shoe.
The Adidas Tubular Defiant Sneaker has became a staple in many wardrobes after models like Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Alex Centomo and Gigi Hadid have been seen rocking the shoes. From dresses to sweatpants, the sneaker can be combined with any outfit for a cute, yet comfortable vibe.
The shoe ranges in price depending on the retailer from which you purchase. The Adidas website and Neiman Marcus offer the shoe for around $100, while stores like Urban Outfitters and Zappos sell them for around $70 to $80.
Athletic Sneakers
Athleisure has always been a trend, but has blossomed into a styling must have this past year.
Women have been rocking the Nike Women’s Air Zoom Strong Training shoe, as it is just as fashionable as it is durable. Superstar’s like Demi Lovato have been seen out and about in these, as well as the Nike Tanjun Sneakers which have also become popular in the world of athleisure.
The Tanjun’s will cost you between $50 and $60, while the Air Zoom’s cost between $80 to $150, depending on the store.
Velvet and Satin Sneakers
We can all thank Rihanna for introducing us to the velvet, satin and furry sneakers which debuted in her Puma by Rihanna line.
The Women’s Bow Sneakers, available for both men and women, are available in a gorgeous lavender color and are soft to the touch with an all over satin material.
The sneakers were originally $160 on the Puma website, but have recently gone on sale for $94.99. If you have always wanted to splurge on a design from Rihanna’s collection, now is the time while some of her pieces are on sale.
