Noah Beck has made his official acting debut in Tubi’s new film, ‘Sidelined: The QB and Me’ and fans are starting to point out the similarities between his role and Noah Centineo’s 2018 film debut in ‘To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before.”
While the roles themselves are totally different, Beck playing a sexy bad boy football star while Centineo plays a sweet boy next door, the heartthrob aspect of their characters was perfectly nailed by each actor. This is the parallel that fans are beginning to point out. Both boys have managed to perfectly nail the leading male role and left girls swooning over them and their characters.
Let’s break down Sidelined, Noah Beck’s acting debut and answer everyone’s burning question— Is Noah Beck the heartthrob of the new generation?
Who is Noah Beck?
Noah Beck is an online personality and influencer that had his start on TikTok, gaining most of his popularity during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 when he began to post dancing videos and thirst traps. In June 2020, Beck joined the content house ‘Sway House’ with other creators pushing out the same type of content, including Josh Richards, Bryce Hall, Jaden Hossler and more.
The group was described by fans as essentially a group of frat boys that decided to start making TikTok content together, however some had a more affectionate description calling them the “One Direction of TikTok.” This is where Beck got his start, and he eventually began acting classes and trying to expand his career. This is when “Sidelined” was born.
Sidelined
‘Sidelined: The QB and Me’ was released on Nov. 29, 2024. The film was an adaptation of the Wattpad story “Sidelined: The QB Bad Boy and Me” by Tay Marley. The film follows the love story of Drayton Lahey (Beck), the star quarterback of the football team and known for never getting into relationships, and Dallas Bryan (Siena Agudong), a dancer who has sworn off relationships so that she can focus on getting into art school.
As the two characters go through the trials and tribulations of a high school romance, the film also shows the other struggles they are going through including loss, conflicts with family, and navigating pressure to succeed and figure out your future.
However, the element of the film getting the most attention online was Noah Beck and the attractiveness of his character. Being a Wattpad story adaptation, the film has its fair share of borderline cringy moments and flirty dialogue between the two main characters. However, Beck balances out some of the cringe with his smooth delivery and attractiveness. (Fans also loved the shirtless scenes.)
Lahey vs. Kavinsky
Fans saw an immediate parallel between Noah Beck’s character and Noah Centineo’s character Peter Kavinsky in the film “To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before.” Both of the boys have an overall charm to them that makes them a great fit for leading male, teenage heartthrob roles.
After the release of “To All The Boys,” fans began to swoon over Noah Centineo, similar to how young girls are starting to react to Noah Beck now. So, could Noah Beck be the new teenage heartthrob? It’s definitely not out of the question. After all, he is an attractive man with lots of charm. I suppose only time will tell.
