Music can make you feel and experience Halloween cheer whilst you listen to a few haunting classics. MJ’s “Thriller” never goes out of style, but let’s face it, there’s only so much “Monster Mash” and diabolical laughter a guy or gal can take before flipping that off switch. So save your “Thriller” dance moves for another time and rock out to these 15 spooktastic tunes by some of your favorite artists of this century!

1. ‘My Body’s a Zombie for You” by Dead Man’s Bones: This alternative gem is not only an eerie treat but also a catchy tune. Did I mention this is Ryan Gosling’s band? That’s right ladies, THE Ryan Gosling.

2. “Walk Like a Zombie” by The HorrorPops: If you want to hold hands in the cemetery, be lost for all eternity, own a mountain top with a little castle and name your kids Morticia and Fester, then this song is for you! This upbeat tune is full of Halloween innuendos.

3. “Zombie” by Family Force 5: This rock/pop tune will get you out of your chair and rocking like a zombie. Being back from the dead never sounded so cool!

4. “Ghosts” by Ladytron: This haunting tune is an electronic hit. If there’s a ghost creeping your style, then this song is certainly for you.

5. “Houdini” by Foster the People: This alternative treat is upbeat and definitely magical. From Foster’s album, “Torches”, this song is an awesome hit.

6. “Graveyard Girl” by M83: Nothing gets you in the Halloween spirit like a somber walk through a graveyard. Luckily, this song will make it feel a lot less gloomy.

7. “Monsters” by Matchbook Romance: For all those monsters underneath your bed, this song is perfect for keeping all the ghouls at bay.

8. “Monster Hospital (MSTRKRFT Remix)” by Metric: This rock remix is a must-listen. The electronic beat will keep you bumping and dancing all night long.

9. “Tear Me Up” by Stefy Rae: For all those frightening exes out there, this song is for you! Tear it up on the dance floor with this terrifying jam.

10.“The Sharpest Lives” by My Chemical Romance: MCR knows how to make its audience feel the goose bumps with their mellifluous melodies.

11.“Ramalama (Bang Bang)” by Róisín Murphy: This song is spooky and filled with creepy sounds, but hey, it’s got a sick beat!

12.“Make Me Wanna Die” by The Pretty Reckless: This song may be morbid but don’t be scared, Halloween is supposed to be a little dark.

13.“Bones” by VersaEmerge: This rock song will chill you to the bone in… a good way.

14.“Witches Brew” by David Casper: This pop song is a little bit commercial, but it’s so Halloween appropriate. Fun fact: This jam was played in the Disney classic, Halloween Town II.

15.“I Put a Spell On You” by She & Him: This classic is given an Indie twist with Zooey Deschanel’s beautiful harmonies. Remember when the Sanderson witches sang this in “Hocus Pocus”? I know I sure do!
