In 2017, you’re not a real star until you have your own makeup line. This month, Gigi Hadid is the next to fall in line with Kylie Jenner, Drew Barrymore and Rihanna. On October 8, she announced a line with Maybelline.
GIGI HADID X MAYBELLINE will have three parts: East Coast Glam, West Coast Glow and Jetsetter to help create any look you’re going for. Overall, the tone of the brand seems to be giving an easy, versatile look.
So far, Maybelline and the model are keeping their lips zipped about specific details. One product they have given fans a glimpse of via Instagram is the Jetsetter palette, which is stuffed with blush, bronzer, highlighter, eye shadow, lip gloss and a mini mascara.
Hadid herself explained, “I always wanted a palette that I could throw right in my purse or travel bag and know I have everything to do a light-everyday look, quickly and easily.”
It seems that her fans agree— the palette was sold in Boots stores in the U.K. on October 13, and the entire collection sold out in under 90 minutes.
Here, in the U.S., the line will first come to Ulta. According to Ulta’s site, the full collection will be available online October 22. It’ll reach stores November 5. Since the U.S. launch is expected to be at least as big as the launch in the U.K., expect the products to sell out like football season tickets. Ulta offers text alerts, which may be a good idea if you’re desperate to get your hands on the line.
Since 2015, Hadid has been a brand ambassador for Maybelline. In the past, this has meant starring in commercials and print ads. It’s exciting to see her branch out and create with the brand. VALLEY hopes to see other Maybelline brand ambassadors, like Adriana Lima, Jourdan Dunn and Manny Gutierrez follow the trend, too.
