Hollywood is not as glamorous as it may seem. Celebrities bicker and feud like it’s high school all over again – except with the worldwide fame. Throughout decades the public has witnessed short-fuse fights and seasoned feuds with different celebrity pairings. Bad blood happens in the industry. Here’s a few (of many) feuds that have gone down in entertainment history.
Jimmy Kimmel vs. Matt Damon
Kimmel and Damon have ‘feuded’ for almost two decades. While their root of publicly fighting is based in satire, it stems from a joke Kimmel said on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, “Apologies to Matt Damon, but we ran out of time.” The bit continued until Damon appeared on the show in 2006 where Kimmel gave a long spiel, Damon sat down for the interview and Kimmel cut him off to end the show there.
Both celebrities have kept up their playful love-hate relationship through quips and interviews hinting at their ‘feud.’ Decades have flown by when Damon has tried to be a guest on the show, but Kimmel has put a stop to it every time. Can they work it out on the remix? VALLEY thinks so. The two even tried couples counseling back in 2015!
Kim Cattrall vs. Sarah Jessica Parker
This feud pulls all the SATC fan’s heart strings. On screen, Carrie Bradshaw and Samantha Jones showcase their beautiful and raw friendship to one another while navigating their sex lives in New York City. Off-screen, it is a completely different story. Their public differences began over Parker receiving a higher salary than her co-stars as she was the lead and a producer on the show. Cattrall attempted to negotiate a higher salary as the show gained more success, but it took a public turn for the worse.
In the early 2000s, their ‘feud’ seemed to stem from money, but both denied disliking each other in several interviews and Cattral stated other personal reasons that led to her leaving the show as well. While neither confirmed their feud and spoke well of each other to the public, a New York Post published in 2017 about the ‘mean girl’ culture on set where SJP was mean to Kim over the six years of filming SATC. Cattrall continued to say she and SJP did not share a friendship but were rather colleagues that same year.
Cattrall’s response to SJP’s wishes about her brother’s passing truly confirmed the two never saw eye to eye. She publicly stated for SJP to drop the ‘nice girl’ persona and that they are not family or friends. Yikes. VALLEY is not sure if they’ll work it out on the reboot OR remix.
Jenifer Lopez vs. Mariah Carey
Two pop divas? A feud is inevitable. Small disses here and there, but Mariah Carey claimed that she just doesn’t know her! The drama started way back when Lopez signed a record deal and began collaborating with Carey’s ex-husband and the media started to compare their talents.
In an interview when asked about J.Lo she simply claimed to not know her. Lopez responded in other interviews with praise for Mariah Carey and her music and would love to meet her someday.
The feud turned out to be small, petty disses. Ignoring each other, J.Lo called Carey ‘forgetful’ in an interview and so forth. These two definitely have a chance to work it out on the remix!
