The reality TV show Big Brother was such a hit that producers created a spinoff show across the pond entitled Big Brother UK. Big Brother UK season 24 (Celebrity Big Brother) kicked off early in April, but tensions ran high as lingering problems between the housemates arose.
What is Big Brother?
Big Brother is a reality TV show where 16 strangers, referred to as “houseguests,” are trapped in a huge house where they are unable to leave. Whilst completing physical and mental challenges, it is encouraged to form alliances and social connections because at the end of every week a houseguest is voted out. The prize for winning is $750,000.
Important Houseguests
The ongoing season of Big Brother UK is a special celebrity season, including stars like gay pop icon Jojo Siwa, retired famous actor Mickey Rourke, TV personality and sports presenter Chris Hughes, actress/comedian Donna Preston and many more.
Tensions Rising
Not even a few days into meeting each other, Siwa and Rourke were having a chat. Rourke begins to talk to Siwa about her non-binary partner, somewhat poking fun, and even goes to other houseguests stating, “we should vote the lesbian out quick.” Although Rourke is 72 and claims to be “old-fashioned,” hateful and inappropriate language is never tolerated. Roruke continues with this repugnant language even stating the “f-slur.” Rourke claims it was in reference to a cigarette, but the houseguests and viewers saw right through his deceitful actions.
Rourke was called into a room to speak with production and was left off with a warning.
A day or two after this incident, Rourke was caught making inappropriate sexual comments to Ella Wise, a famous UK actress.
Rourke was called back to speak with production, and was given another warning. At this point, fans were outraged that Rourke had not yet been kicked out of the house.
After Roruke’s two incidents, there was one more interaction that was the final straw. After a small disagreement, Rourke began using threatening language with Chris Hughes. Rourke was called to speak with production before the altercation became physical.
Rourke was asked to leave the house by production as he had three offensives to three different houseguests. Rourke agreed and swiftly left.
What Happens Now?
Fans and houseguests are now in a state of relief that Rourke is gone and they are happy the game can continue on in its normal silly nature.
As for Rourke, people are outraged. He showed his true colors and people do not like what they see.
Furthermore, Bella Thorne gained the courage to step forward and talked about her time working with Roukre on the set of the movie “Girl.” Thorne has reported that Rourke was inappropriate towards her.
Further action and news is waiting to be released.
