Beauty Looks From NYFW and How To Recreate Them

You know that summer is officially over when another New York Fashion Week has come and gone. However, there is a lot we can learn from the trends at Fashion Week. That being said, while the week is technically all about fashion, no collection would be complete without a fabulous beauty look to go with it. Designers work specifically with hair and makeup masterminds to create signature looks for the models to accompany their clothes on the runway.

Naturally, we couldn’t help but want to recreate some of them. So, we chose two dramatically different, but equally stunning beauty looks from the runway and chatted with Looks makeup artist, Kayla Damron, to get the scoop on how to achieve these looks at home. Without further ado…

The models at House of Herrera rocked fierce red lips, lightly lined eyes, and slightly disheveled brows.

“To recreate this look, I would recommend MAC Cosmetics Lipstick in the shade Dangerous and MAC Cosmetics Eye Shadow in the shade Rule,” says Damron. “Apply shadow onto the lid and lower lash line. Keep it natural and soft by blending with a fluffy brush. Then, finish the look by adding a pop of color on the cheeks with MAC Cosmetics Blush in the shade Peaches.”

We’re in love with this sultry and feminine look – a red lip looks amazing on everyone.

Rag and Bone

Rag & Bone

Genius makeup artist Gucci Westman created a ‘no makeup, makeup’ look on the girls for the Rag & Bone show. Out of the two looks, this one was Damron’s favorite.

“I personally love this look,” she says, “the artist kept it very simple, but still made a statement with these beautiful, bold brows and eyelashes.”

To recreate this look, Damron suggested using a brow pencil or powder to fill in the brows. She recommended the Bare Minerals Universal Brow Pencil in Universal Light or Dark, depending on the color of your brow hairs. As for the lashes, you can either apply a few individual false lashes or just stick with mascara. Damron loves the Bare Minerals Volumizing Mascara for achieving extra flirty lashes.
