Kayla was a wonderful person with an infectious smile who lived by the motto “life’s tough but I’m tougher.” Her loss is felt by the entire Penn State community and the many, many lives she touched.
We all knew the struggle. Hours spent braiding, knotting and twisting multiple colors of string together into the perfect summer friendship bracelet or anklet —…
By now, it should be no mystery that our Spring 2015 issue has arrived – and that within it we wrote about how to throw a Murder Mystery party. For larger parties, we suggested starting up a game of Mafia. And as promised, here is a detailed instruction on how to play.
With late nights and early mornings an unfortunate necessity for most college students, oversleeping your alarm happens far too often than we would like. Share in the same struggle? Well sleep-depraved friend, I’ve sure got good news for you.
Fell in love with the glow stick chandeliers we made for our Hunger Games themed Throw a Party? With a few supplies and just four steps you can make your own!
There’s nothing we love more than to see students taking advantage of the many culturally unique opportunities here at Penn State. The African Students Association (A.S.A) is an organization founded on the mission statement, “to unite the sons and daughters of the Motherland and all those concerned with it’s welfare.”
When you’re standing for 46 hours and can’t leave the floor, dancers are going to want to keep stuff with them, but not have it in the way. The answer? The hands-free wonder that is a fanny pack. It’s not just convenient, it’s one of the best ways for a dancer to accessorize.
That’s right, the ICCA is not just a Hollywood invention. The International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA) is a real tournament in which college students from six regions nationwide compete.
As we approach the heart of winter, the temperatures drop lower – and the heat gets cranked up higher. What do you do when you’re shivering outside but sweating inside?
The end of the semester is nearly here – and so are the days of relaxation and relief that we are all looking forward to. But with only two weeks off, it’s a good idea to keep your brain stimulated, so why not trade in your textbooks for some leisurely reading?
Students here wear their Penn State apparel every day – like it’s a uniform. Be honest: we know you own enough PSU-related clothing to complete an entire wardrobe. (Sweats? Yoga pants? Socks? Headbands? Jewelery?)
And then… there are those students who wear clothes from other colleges and
universities. We’ve seen it, and our student body is and always has been big on school spirit. Is it weird and disloyal to wear another school’s logo, or is it acceptable with good reason? We asked some of our peers for their thoughts.
Fall break has finally arrived! We can all look forward to spending the next week at home, with family, eating lots of food, catching up with good friends … and trying to avoid inevitable boredom. Valley’s suggestion – go see a movie or two.
Fall has arrived… and with it the season for flu shots. Per usual, the Student Health Center will offer fall flu clinics every Tuesday and Thursday of this month (check the UHS website for posted dates, hours and locations) – and, even though students are aware of the benefits that come with vaccination, there will always be those who hesitate. To many, needles rank among the scariest of Halloween’s ghouls and goblins. With that we couldn’t agree more, which is why we looked for (and found) a much less frightening option.
Parent’s Weekend has come and gone, and your homesickness may be even harder to suppress than before. Missing home is common among all college students (upperclassmen included!). It’s okay to long for the comforts of home, but if you’re fighting back tears, let us at least help you get through until winter break.
Since its 2010 debut, the popular photo-sharing app, Instagram, has taken the world of social networking by storm. Around the globe, users capture all kinds…
