Valley Charity Fashion Show: The Walk- Fall 2009

The Fall 2009 Valley fashion show, “The Walk: One Small Step for Fashion, One Giant Leap for Charity, was aimed to make changes in the lives of others. All proceeds solely benefited The American Red Cross.

The show followed over seventy different looks in four segments. All Tomorrow’s Parties featured an animated world of neons, metallics, and acid wash. We are… Fashion featured put-together examples of everyday wardrobe with Penn State spirit. Casablanca featured sophisticated looks of elegance and class. Fall on Mars was our high fashion look and our biggest segment of the show. Inspired by those who possibly reside on the planet Mars, we put together a show stopper to tribute to the color everyone must be seen in this season- red.

In addition, we had an encore performance by the Greek Sing 2009 winners, a dance by Penn State’s Ballroom Dancing champions, and a mini fashion show for ASA’s Touch of Africa.

Valley Charity Fashion Show: The WALK  – Spring 2009

The Spring 2009 Valley fashion show, “The Walk: Changing Outfits, Changing Attitudes,” was aimed to make changes in the lives of others, as well as to raise proceeds to solely benefit Oxfam International, a group of independent non-governmental organizations that work directly with communities in over 100 countries to overcome poverty and injustice.

The show followed fifty different looks in four segments. Abstraction of Spring featured springy, light clothes, such as flowered tunics, gladiator sandals and high-waisted skirts. Breakfast at Tiffany’s featured sophisticated black evening wear. When the Sun Goes Down featured a series of party outfits. Cirque de la Vallée, our high fashion segment, was our biggest segment of the show inspired by Cirque de Sole. Cirque de la Vallée translates to “circus of the valley.” These looks featured animal prints, shiny colored leggings paired with high heels, futuristic, unconventional outfits with abstract patterns and colors, and ornate hairstyles.
