You know you are in the honeymoon phase when everything seems simply perfect.

The feelings are most likely associated with infatuation, this is because your brain is flooded with dopamine; every touch or look from your partner comes with a sense of desire.

It’s like a reward system. It’s the same feel-good hormone we get when we work out. Our body is physically responding to that person’s presence and they can really throw off our whole being because we’re excited to be around them.

All good things must come to an end, right? The hormones associated with long-term comfort begin to increase and we start to notice some flaws within our partners and get agitated at specific things we once thought were “cute.”

Falling into normalcy is not a bad thing. It allows you to acknowledge that the person you thought you were head-over-heels for may not be the one for you.

When people feel an instant spark with their partner, they might be blinded by this chemistry and not see the other person for who they really are.

  1. Never stop dating

Like you once did when you were falling in love, why do the effort and the acknowledgment that you love each other have to stop after the honeymoon phase? Planning exciting dates, going somewhere nice and new, dressing up and talking about something that excites you will ensure you remember just why you fell in love in the first place.

2. Communicate with each other

Make time daily to talk about your feelings and genuinely listen to each other. Let your partner know what’s going on. It will make your relationship healthier.

3. Experience new things together

Experiencing new things as a couple brings the intimacy and passion right back like it never left. Having a good time with your significant other and remembering all the good times you had previously gets you right back to the honeymoon stage.

The return of the spark

As the honeymoon phase circles back, it invites couples to cherish the memories, learn from the challenges and embark on a renewed adventure with a profound appreciation for the journey they have shared. It is a reminder that love is not static but a dynamic force. In the return of the honeymoon phase, there is an opportunity for couples to celebrate, reflect and embrace the enduring beauty of their shared narrative.

Never let the honeymoon phase end and if it does, do your very best to get it back.
