A Cup of Hot Cocoa

The first snow of the season has glazed over Penn State. When temperatures drop below freezing, it can be hard to feel your best. Sometimes it can seem like your skin is drying faster or your days are blending together. Don’t worry though, VALLEY has got your back. Here is the perfect recipe for how to feel your best during these cold, cold days.

Soothing Skincare

Face masks are the first ingredient for your self-care cocoa. If your face feels dry, just apply a hydrating sheet or a snail mucin mask. Feel free to do this twice throughout the week when your skin needs a pick-me-up.

If masks aren’t your thing, then VALLEY recommends using two moisturizers during your normal morning routine. Doubling the amount of hydration your face gets can block the damaging, harsh winds from drying you out.

Treat Yourself

The next ingredient is a treat. It can be anything. From cookies to a new book, and a new blanket to a new man. Whatever it is, VALLEY believes you deserve a treat. This ingredient should go without saying, but it’s here just in case you forgot.

College can be tough. When winter comes, the cold can make your problems feel much worse than they actually are. It’s important to treat yourself when you feel down or whipped by the winds.

Sleep Well, Feel Well

After a treat, there is sleep. It can be difficult trying to get the recommended eight hours of sleep every night. However, the better sleep you get, the better you feel overall. A quick tip: don’t let the cold keep you rotting in bed all day.

For a good night’s sleep, try going to bed at an earlier hour. If you start scheduling a time you want to be in bed by, then your physical clock will adjust itself to that time. This can make falling asleep faster, and in turn, gives you more energy for the day.

Chills For Thrills

Feeling appreciative is the final ingredient in your self-care cocoa. No amount of products can make you who you are and that’s something to be glad about. You can make it through the winter months because you’re resilient and strong.

Once you appreciate the good things you have, your mindset can change for the better. If you take a moment and appreciate your support systems, the cold months will fly by in a second.
