500 Things to Love About Penn State: #491 Blue-White Weekend

The undeniable aroma of funnel cakes swirling around Beaver Stadium. The pure excitement of football season. The awesomeness of spring in State College (#495). It must be Blue-White Weekend in Happy Valley. Finally.

Probably the best antidote to lack of football season during the spring semester, Blue-White Weekend serves as the perfect excuse to enjoy all the wonders of a PSU fall with the gorgeous weather of spring. Break out the hotdogs and hamburgers, throw on your favorite jersey, it’s time to tailgate.

Aside from the actual Blue-White game on Saturday, the entire weekend is absolutely brimming with Penn State pride. From the carnival with rides and games, to the annual Penn State Idol competition, to the Beaver Stadium 5K Run, Blue-White weekend has something to offer all who attend. My personal favorite part, (besides the fact that the football game is absolutely FREE) would have to be a toss-up between the fried Oreos and funnel cakes sold just outside of Beaver Stadium.  Life just doesn’t get any better than this.

Football, tailgates and a chance to enjoy beautiful weather with 45,000 of your closest friends… this is Penn State at its finest.

Blue-White weekend truly is the perfect way to end the semester with a bang…or at least distract us from the looming burden of finals (cue #492, Lion Tutors).
